Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 ounce) package frozen sweet peas, thawed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the thawed peas, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, red onion, and celery. Set aside.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until the dressing is smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the creamy dressing over the pea mixture. Gently fold all ingredients together until the peas and other additions are evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the creamy pea salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before you serve this best creamy pea salad recipe.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute sour cream for half of the mayonnaise in the dressing.
  • If you want a crunchier texture, add 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds when mixing the salad.
  • This salad tastes even better when made the day before, making it a great choice for easy entertaining.
