Make perfectly tender and crispy broccoli in your air fryer with this simple recipe featuring garlic and Parmesan cheese. This is a quick, flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the broccoli: Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli florets. Drying them well helps them crisp up in the air fryer.
  2. Season the broccoli: Place the dried florets in a medium bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Add dry seasonings: Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the broccoli. Toss again until all pieces are coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes.
  5. Air fry in batches: Place the seasoned broccoli in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary for best crisping results.
  6. Cook: Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  7. Finish: Remove the basket and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon juice (if using) over the hot broccoli. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Serve immediately: Transfer the crispy air fryer broccoli to a serving plate and enjoy this easy air fryer vegetable recipe.

Notes

  • For the crispiest results, ensure your broccoli florets are completely dry before tossing them with oil. Excess moisture creates steam, leading to soggy broccoli.
  • If you are using frozen broccoli, do not thaw it first. Toss it directly with oil and seasonings, and increase the cooking time by 2 to 4 minutes.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, use 1/2 teaspoon of fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder, but add it only during the last 2 minutes of cooking to prevent burning.
