Create an impressive appetizer instantly with this creamy, no-bake Whipped Ricotta Dip. It blends smooth ricotta with a drizzle of sweet and spicy hot honey for a crowd-pleasing flavor combination.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese, drained if very wet
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for finishing
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (or regular honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary or thyme (optional garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted walnuts or pistachios (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the drained ricotta cheese, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper into the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the ricotta is completely smooth, light, and airy.
  3. Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well or swirl in the center.
  4. Drizzle the hot honey evenly over the top of the dip.
  5. Garnish with fresh herbs and toasted nuts, if using.
  6. Drizzle a small amount of extra olive oil around the edges. Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  7. Serve immediately with crostini, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a high-powered blender or a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Whip until very smooth.
  • For a savory version, skip the honey and top with garlic-infused olive oil, fresh basil, and cracked black pepper.
  • This dip tastes best served at room temperature. You can make it up to 4 hours ahead and let it sit on the counter for 30 minutes before serving.
