This recipe shows you how to make an incredibly creamy, tangy whipped feta dip in under five minutes. It is the perfect easy appetizer for parties or game day snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block feta cheese, drained
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of sea salt (taste first)
  • Optional Topping: Honey or hot honey, chopped pistachios, fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. Place the drained feta cheese, softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and black pepper into a food processor.
  2. Process the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides once or twice. This usually takes 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Taste the dip. If needed, add a small pinch of salt, but feta is usually salty enough.
  4. Transfer the whipped feta dip to a shallow serving bowl.
  5. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well in the center of the dip.
  6. Drizzle generously with olive oil and your optional topping, such as honey or hot honey. Garnish with nuts or herbs if using.
  7. Serve immediately with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • You can make this dip ahead of time. Store it covered in the refrigerator for up to two days. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving for the best texture.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, use roasted garlic instead of raw minced garlic.
  • If you want a lighter dip, use only Greek yogurt and skip the cream cheese.
