This sweet, creamy Snickers Salad uses tart apples, candy bar pieces, and a fluffy base. It is a simple, no-bake recipe perfect for potlucks and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 6 standard size Snickers candy bars, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or peanuts (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until the mixture thickens, about 2 minutes.
  2. Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture until just combined and smooth.
  3. Add the chopped apples and chopped Snickers candy bars to the creamy mixture. Stir carefully to coat all ingredients evenly.
  4. If you are using them, fold in the chopped nuts.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the Snickers Salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  6. Before serving at your next potluck or party, you can drizzle the top with caramel sauce, if desired.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith to balance the sweetness of the candy bars and creamy base.
  • Prepare this dessert salad no more than a few hours ahead of time to keep the apples crisp.
  • This recipe is a Midwest classic and works well as a dessert or a sweet side dish for BBQs.
