- 4 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (about 10–12 medium apples)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and salt in a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Stir to coat the apples evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours, until the apples are very tender.
- Carefully transfer the cooked apples and liquid to a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth. Alternatively, use an immersion blender directly in the slow cooker.
- For a thicker consistency, remove the lid and cook on high for another 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened to your liking.
- Let cool slightly before serving or jarring.

- For longer storage, follow proper canning procedures.
- Serve on toast, pancakes, waffles, or as a spread for pork or chicken.
