- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- For the Topping:
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the donuts are baking, melt the ½ cup of butter in a small bowl. In another small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for a minute before transferring them to a wire rack.
