Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ripe tomatoes, quartered
1/2 medium white onion, roughly chopped
1–2 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, packed
1–2 jalapeños, seeds and membranes removed for less heat, or left in for more heat, roughly chopped
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 1–2 limes)
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Instructions
Combine the quartered tomatoes, chopped onion, garlic cloves, cilantro, and chopped jalapeños in a blender or food processor.
Add the fresh lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using).
Pulse the ingredients until the salsa reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother salsa, blend longer. For a chunkier salsa, pulse fewer times.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime juice if desired.
Transfer the salsa to a bowl and serve immediately, or refrigerate for later.
Notes
For a spicier salsa, leave some or all of the jalapeño seeds and membranes intact.
Adjust the amount of cilantro and lime juice to your preference.
This salsa is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Consider this a great alternative to some meal planning services when you want a fresh, homemade option.
