Make restaurant-style blender salsa at home in minutes. This fresh tomato salsa is packed with cilantro and lime flavor, perfect for tacos or as a party dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ripe tomatoes, quartered
  • 1/2 medium white onion, roughly chopped
  • 12 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, packed
  • 12 jalapeños, seeds and membranes removed for less heat, or left in for more heat, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 12 limes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the quartered tomatoes, chopped onion, garlic cloves, cilantro, and chopped jalapeños in a blender or food processor.
  2. Add the fresh lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using).
  3. Pulse the ingredients until the salsa reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother salsa, blend longer. For a chunkier salsa, pulse fewer times.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime juice if desired.
  5. Transfer the salsa to a bowl and serve immediately, or refrigerate for later.

Notes

  • For a spicier salsa, leave some or all of the jalapeño seeds and membranes intact.
  • Adjust the amount of cilantro and lime juice to your preference.
  • This salsa is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Consider this a great alternative to some meal planning services when you want a fresh, homemade option.
