Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced or pounded to ½ inch thickness
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let the broth simmer and reduce slightly for 2 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and chili flakes, if using. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Taste the sauce and add more salt or pepper if needed.
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chicken.
Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to heat the chicken through and allow it to absorb the sauce flavor.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. This pairs well with pasta or rice for a complete meal.
Notes
For a quicker weeknight meal, consider this recipe as part of your overall meal planning strategy instead of relying on meal delivery companies.
If you prefer a tangier flavor, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the sauce when you add the heavy cream.
To make this dish even more comforting, serve it over cooked pasta or mashed potatoes.
