Hi, I’m Alex, and I’m so glad you’re here. You can make these addictive butter toffee pretzels with just a few simple ingredients. They are crunchy, sweet, and salty, making them perfect for parties, gifting, or game day snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Heath toffee bits (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, honey, salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly. This step helps create the crunch.
  4. Place the mini pretzels in a large bowl. Pour the hot toffee mixture over the pretzels. Stir gently until all the pretzels are evenly coated.
  5. If you are using toffee bits, stir them in now.
  6. Spread the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in a single, even layer.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Stir the pretzels halfway through the baking time to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
  8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let the pretzels cool completely on the sheet. As they cool, they will become very crunchy.
  9. Once cool, break apart any clusters. Serve this sweet and salty snack immediately or store it in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For the best crunch, do not skip the baking step; it sets the toffee coating properly.
  • You can substitute pecans or walnuts for the optional toffee bits if you prefer nuts in your party pretzel mix.
  • These make wonderful giftable pretzel snacks when packaged in clear bags tied with a ribbon.
