Make these simple, elegant cranberry brie bites using puff pastry. They are quick to assemble, bake up warm and flaky, and deliver a perfect sweet and savory flavor for any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce or jam
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped pecans for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares.
  3. Gently press each pastry square into the cups of the prepared muffin tin, forming a small base.
  4. Place one small cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  5. Top the brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. If using, sprinkle a few chopped pecans over the sauce.
  6. Brush the edges of the exposed puff pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For an even easier assembly, use refrigerated crescent roll dough instead of puff pastry, cutting it into squares and pressing it into the muffin tin cups.
  • If you prefer a different flavor profile, substitute the cranberry sauce with fig jam or apricot preserves for a different style of cheesy finger food.
  • You can assemble these appetizers up to 4 hours ahead of time; keep them covered in the refrigerator and add the egg wash just before baking.
