You need a quick, indulgent dessert? This creamy chocolate dip comes together in five minutes using simple ingredients. It is perfect for dipping fruit, pretzels, cookies, or marshmallows at any party or casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk (or heavy cream for thicker dip)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese into a medium mixing bowl. Beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until it is smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to the cream cheese, mixing on low speed until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and milk (or cream). Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat until the dip is completely smooth, light, and velvety. This should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Taste the dip. If you prefer it sweeter, add 1 more tablespoon of powdered sugar and mix until incorporated.
  5. Serve the easy chocolate dip immediately with your favorite dippers like strawberries, apple slices, graham crackers, or pretzels.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder or add 2 ounces of melted semi-sweet chocolate to the mixture after the initial mixing stage.
  • If you want a thicker consistency for dipping, reduce the milk to 3 tablespoons or use heavy cream instead of regular milk.
  • Store any leftover creamy chocolate dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving for the best texture.
