Make this easy, no-bake Oreo Dirt Cake. It features creamy layers of chocolate pudding, cream cheese filling, and crushed Oreos, perfect for parties or individual dirt cups topped with gummy worms.
Crush all the Oreo cookies in a food processor until they resemble fine dirt. Set aside about 1 cup of the crumbs for topping.
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and softened butter together until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar until fully combined.
Fold in the thawed whipped topping until the mixture is uniform and creamy.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, cold milk, and vanilla extract until the pudding thickens, about 2 minutes.
Gently fold the chocolate pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
If making one large cake, layer half of the remaining Oreo crumbs, followed by half of the pudding mixture, then repeat the layers. If making individual dirt cups, layer crumbs and pudding mixture in each cup.
Chill the dirt cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until firm. This is a great make-ahead dessert.
Before serving, top the cake or individual cups generously with the reserved crushed Oreo crumbs to look like dirt.
Insert gummy worms into the top layer for decoration. Serve cold.
Notes
For individual servings, use small clear plastic cups or mason jars to show off the layers.
If you want a richer flavor, substitute vanilla pudding for chocolate pudding, or use both.
You can prepare the entire dessert one day ahead of time; the chilling time helps the flavors meld.
