You can make unbelievably tender beef tips and a deeply savory gravy using your slow cooker. This easy crockpot beef tips recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners and creates a hearty comfort food meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef stew meat pieces into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the entire packet of onion soup mix over the beef.
  3. Pour the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth over the meat mixture.
  4. Add the Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Stir everything gently to coat the beef.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the beef is fall-apart tender. Do not lift the lid during the first 4 hours (No Peek method).
  7. Before serving, stir the mixture well to create a rich, savory gravy. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley, if you like.
  9. Serve these tender beef tips over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.

Notes

  • For an even richer gravy, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Stir this slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking on high.
  • You can use beef sirloin tips or chuck roast cut into cubes for this recipe.
  • This recipe is great for meal prep; it reheats well.
