An incredibly simple 3-ingredient dessert made in your slow cooker. This dump cake is perfect for potlucks and gatherings, offering a warm, comforting apple flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Pour the apple pie filling into the bottom of your slow cooker. Spread it evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apple pie filling. Do not mix.
  3. Pour the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix, ensuring all the cake mix is moistened.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1.5-2 hours, until the cake is golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • This dessert is best served immediately after cooking.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon over the apple pie filling before adding the cake mix.
  • Ensure the butter fully coats the cake mix for even cooking.
