Make this rich, satisfying creamy beef pasta on a busy weeknight. This simple, one-pan recipe uses everyday ingredients to create a comforting meal that brings people together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces dry pasta (penne or rotini work well)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the beef. Cook for one minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with their juice) and the beef broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Add the dry pasta to the skillet. Stir well to submerge the pasta in the liquid.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, cubed cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  8. Continue stirring until the cream cheese is fully melted and the sauce coats the pasta evenly.
  9. Serve immediately. Garnish your creamy beef pasta with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a higher protein meal, use lean ground beef or ground turkey.
  • If you prefer a slightly tomato-forward sauce, add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste with the onions.
  • This recipe is a great alternative to complex meal planning; it is faster than most meal delivery companies offer.
