A festive sweet and spicy dip perfect for holiday gatherings. This easy appetizer features a bright cranberry relish layered over creamy cheese.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 12 jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Crackers or baguette slices for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cilantro, red onion, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a serving dish.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the cranberry sauce and diced jalapeños.
  4. Spoon the cranberry-jalapeño mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, if using.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve chilled with crackers or baguette slices.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead appetizer, prepare the dip up to 2 days in advance and store covered in the refrigerator.
