Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or similar oven-safe serving dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the lump crab meat. You want to keep the crab meat as intact as possible.
  5. Spread the crab mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the top evenly with the grated Parmesan cheese and a light dusting of extra Old Bay seasoning.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the top is lightly golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • You can prepare the dip mixture up to 24 hours in advance. Cover the dish and refrigerate. When ready to bake, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before placing it in the oven, or add 5-10 minutes to the baking time.
  • For an extra rich flavor, substitute 4 ounces of the cream cheese with 4 ounces of softened cream cheese mixed with 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
  • Serve this as a make ahead appetizer for holidays or game day food.
