Make this classic, creamy cold clam dip using simple ingredients like cream cheese and minced clams. It is a crowd-pleasing party appetizer that comes together fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 (6.5 ounce) can minced clams, drained well
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh chives or green onion

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until the base is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Add the drained minced clams, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the bowl.
  3. Stir all ingredients together until the clams are evenly distributed throughout the creamy base.
  4. Taste the dip and season with salt and black pepper as needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the clam dip in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  6. Before serving your crowd-pleasing dip, garnish with fresh chives or green onion if desired. Serve cold with crackers or chips.

Notes

  • Make sure you drain the canned clams thoroughly to prevent the dip from becoming watery. Press the clams between paper towels if necessary.
  • For a tangier seafood dip, you can add 1/4 teaspoon of hot sauce to the mixture.
  • This dip is best served cold, making it an ideal make-ahead party appetizer.
