A simple and delicious one-pan dinner featuring tender potatoes, smoky sausage, and a creamy ranch cheddar sauce. Perfect for a weeknight meal or a family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 lbs baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced smoked sausage and prepared potatoes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the ranch seasoning mix, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
  4. Pour the ranch mixture over the sausage and potatoes. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish or a large oven-safe skillet.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sausage is heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.

Notes

  • For a sheet pan option, spread the sausage and potato mixture in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until potatoes are tender. Top with cheese and bake for a few more minutes until melted.
  • You can add your favorite vegetables like broccoli florets or bell pepper strips along with the potatoes.
