Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread or French baguette, sliced horizontally
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread the garlic herb butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Place the buttered bread halves on a baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  7. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • If you don’t have fresh herbs, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried parsley and 1/2 teaspoon of dried chives.
  • This cheesy garlic bread pairs wonderfully with your favorite pasta dishes or a hearty soup.
