A quick and flavorful Cajun-spiced tuna steak with a perfect crust, ideal for a healthy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 tuna steaks (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: avocado-mango salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub both sides of the tuna steaks with blackened seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
  5. Serve immediately with avocado-mango salsa.

Notes

  • For grilling: Preheat grill to high heat and grill for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • For air fryer: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Internal temperatures for tuna: Rare 115°F (46°C), Medium-Rare 120°F (49°C), Medium 125°F (52°C).
  • Marinate tuna in a mixture of olive oil, lime juice, and Cajun spices for up to 30 minutes before cooking for extra flavor.
