Make shelf-stable or frozen gnocchi incredibly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside using your air fryer. This recipe is fast, requires no boiling, and uses simple garlic and Parmesan seasoning for a perfect side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shelf-stable or frozen potato gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw them before cooking. Place the gnocchi directly into the air fryer basket.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the gnocchi. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat the gnocchi evenly with the oil and seasonings.
  3. Arrange the gnocchi in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Air fry at 390°F (199°C) for 10 to 15 minutes. Shake the basket well halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping.
  5. When the gnocchi are golden brown and crispy, remove the basket from the air fryer.
  6. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot gnocchi and toss one final time to coat.
  7. Serve right away as a quick appetizer with marinara sauce or as a satisfying side dish.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika along with the other seasonings.
  • If you want a lighter version, skip the Parmesan cheese for a dairy-free option.
  • These crispy bites work well sprinkled over salads instead of croutons.
