Make simple, sweet cinnamon apple rings quickly in your air fryer. This easy recipe creates tender apples with a warm, spiced coating perfect for a fast dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples: Wash the apples well. Remove the core using an apple corer or a small knife. Slice the apples horizontally into rings about 1/4 inch thick. Discard the ends.
  2. Mix the coating: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  3. Coat the rings: Place the apple rings in a medium bowl. Drizzle the melted butter over the rings and toss gently to coat them lightly.
  4. Apply the spice mix: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the apple rings. Toss again until all the rings are evenly coated.
  5. Arrange in the air fryer: Place the coated apple rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap them; work in batches if necessary to avoid crowding.
  6. Air fry: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes. Flip the rings halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. The apples are done when they are tender when pierced with a fork but still hold their shape.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To prevent the sugar coating from blowing off during air frying, lightly spray the apple rings with cooking spray after tossing them in the butter but before adding the dry sugar mix. This helps the sugar adhere better.
  • Serve these warm apple rings with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for a richer dessert.
  • If you do not have nutmeg or allspice, you can use 1 1/4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon for a simpler flavor.
